The highlight of fall for most kids is Halloween. Dressing up, trick or treating, and stuffing your face with sweets. I won’t lie, it’s my favourite part of Halloween. I’m not one for scary movies or putting on a costume; but I thoroughly enjoy the plethora of chocolates that line grocery store shelves.
Every year I anticipate more kiddies ringing the bell, and end up with handfuls of sugary leftovers. Typically, I’ll add a few to everyone’s lunch bag; toss a few in my purse for the road – never leaving a chocolate behind!
In anticipation of an upcoming sweet tooth binge this weekend, I looked for delicious recipes that incorporate our favourite Halloween candies.
Who doesn’t love chocolate and peanut butter? Well, this recipe from Chocolate, Chocolate and More is the perfect solution to leftover Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.
The Country Cook has a great recipe that incorporates a classic chocolate bar – Snickers. Decadent, sweet and simple to make. Perfect for a Halloween costume party.
Caramel corn is a fall staple and crowd pleaser. Now add Twix candy bars and voila! Twix Caramel Popcorn from Two Peas & Their Pod.
These three recipes showcase only a few ways to incorporate leftover Halloween treats into delicious desserts. What are your favourite delights and how do you use them in your kitchen?
