The city will be buzzing this weekend as we gear up for The Krinos Taste of the Danforth. This year marks the 21st anniversary of the largest street festival in Canada. A fabulous event that showcases delicious food, entertainment and family friendly activities.
In honour of all the festivities in Greek town, I’ve chosen to share a zesty tzatziki recipe anyone can prepare.
1/2 cup (125 mL) finely chopped (unpeeled) cucumber
1/2 tsp (2 mL) salt
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tsp (5 mL) lemon
1. Place yogurt in cheesecloth-lined sieve set over bowl; cover and let drain in refrigerator to 3/4 cup (175 mL).
2. In bowl, sprinkle cucumber with salt ; let stand for 20 minutes. Drain and place in sieve; press out excess moisture.
3. In bowl, combine yogurt, cucumber, garlic and lemon juice. Chill and serve.

Serve your dip with grilled chicken, lamb, beef or simply with some fresh veggies. It’s zesty, tangy and fresh!
