Happy Almost-Friday everyone!
What a busy, exciting week this was. Field trips with my students, World Cup kick off and a lot of downtime. Much needed week of rest and catching up on some ME time. This evening, after casting our ballots for the upcoming election, my family and I stopped by our new fave spot in Maple – 9baci. “9 kisses” as translated in English, this quaint, family style Italian restaurant is a wonderful addition to our community. Pizza, pasta, daily specials and of course, gelato – their menu has everything from classics to modern Italian dishes.
We’ve been so many times, that I have almost had everything on the menu! I kid you not. The atmosphere is contemporary yet casual and inviting. Whether on a date or celebrating with family, 9baci is a must try.
My new favourite is their Mini Parmigiana. It’s the cutest, most delicious I’ve had in a long time. I didn’t have time to replicate the dish for you, but I’m sharing a great recipe from chef Mario Batali. Hearty yet easy on the tummy, this dish is perfect with a mixed summer salad. 9baci turns this classic Italian recipe up a notch with its simple presentation and fresh ingredients. It was so pretty I didn’t want to eat it!
Hope you all had a great week and enjoy the glorious weekend ahead! I have an eventful one myself- full of celebrations, birthdays, marathons and World Cup watching.
