Winning Weekend

Where did the weekend go? For real. I blinked and it’s gone – cue the crying.

For the most part, my weekends are for sleeping, retail therapy and catching up on things around the house. Except for those I am working with aVd Events Inc. My love for weddings turned into a business my best friend Daniela and I established last year. aVd Events Inc. is our side job baby that is keeping us very busy! Yesterday, we helped turn out a fabulous soirée for another happy couple, and couldn’t be more thrilled with how it all went!

Pretty, right?
Pretty, right

But before I flipped into J-Lo planner mode, I snuck in a quick-lunch to get fuelled up. I needed something easy and with zero cooking time, so I whipped up a yummy Cobb salad. Red leaf lettuce, cherry tomatoes, kalamata olives, cucumber, avocado and egg. To be honest, it looked so perfect and pretty on the plate I didn’t want to mess it up. I drizzled a little Dijon and white wine vinaigrette over the top – so tasty! It was just what needed.

So, unless you live under a rock – you knew today was the gold medal, Canada vs Sweden hockey game. Pretty sure the entire country was up at the crack of dawn, ready to cheer and ready for pancakes. I didn’t celebrate with champagne, instead I enjoyed a brunch date with some of my girlfriends.

Catching up about work, kids and all the exciting things going on in our lives, made for a splendid Sunday. Canada won the gold medal, and I won Eggs Benny. Everybody was a winner today!

How did you celebrate Canada’s Olympic win? I’d love for you to share your Olympic morning fan food 🙂

Have a great week friends!
